Five signatures, one coastline
These are the myCHEF experiences — five menus built from Cape provenance and seasonality, each delivered by a private chef at your villa, estate or picnic lawn. Each has a published from-price, a minimum guest count and a fixed itemised quote before any deposit.
They are not restaurant approximations. They are the dishes this coastline actually produces: wood fire and lamb, the Bo-Kaap canon, fynbos from the floral kingdom, linefish in season, and a hamper on the grass while the mountain goes pink.
Tourists book them to eat the Cape in one evening; locals book them for the occasions that deserve more than a booking app. Every experience page below carries the full story, the course-by-course menu, the season and the from-price — start where your appetite starts.
The five signatures
Each experience is a full page of its own — story, menu, season and price. Start where your appetite starts.
- 01Fire — the gourmet braai, wood only, at your villa
- 02Heritage — the Cape Malay dinner, the Bo-Kaap canon cooked properly
- 03Fynbos — a tasting menu from the Cape Floral Kingdom
- 04Ocean — the Cape seafood journey, licensed and in season
- 05The picnic — gourmet hampers for Kirstenbosch lawns and Winelands estates
From-prices, published
Four of the five signatures carry a published per-person from-price and minimum. Picnics are priced per hamper and per person on the quote — the format flexes too much for one honest number.
Every quote is fixed and itemised: food, chef, staff and travel as separate lines, VAT treatment stated, festive multipliers published on the pricing page. The number you approve is the number you pay.

What's in season now
The Cape calendar runs the menus, not the other way round. Snoek runs inshore from November to April with a winter run from May. Waterblommetjies — the Cape water flower — peak in September. Stone fruit, figs and heirloom tomatoes carry December to February; the braai season never really ends.
Kreef is the strict one: only in the licensed, gazetted season, from licensed commercial suppliers — never out of season, never recreational catch. When the window closes, the menu says so.
This calendar is why we don't print one static menu. The dish you're offered in March is not the dish you're offered in September, and that is the honest way to eat in a place with two oceans and a floral kingdom.
How booking works
One WhatsApp message starts it: your date, guest count, area and the experience you want. The menu consult happens within one business day, dietary requirements are settled before we shop, and a fixed itemised quote arrives before any deposit.
Every experience carries the same guarantees as the rest of the site — chef replacement-or-refund, published cancellation tiers and a backup-chef policy. The romance is on the plate; the paperwork is boring, on purpose.
We're new in Cape Town and we don't pretend otherwise — reviews publish on our reviews page as events are delivered. What we bring is a family operating since 2015 across Bali and Dubai, a chef network built on restaurant discipline, and a promise we can keep: restaurant-level food, cooked where you're staying, priced in the open.
Learn the craft
If you'd rather hold the tongs than watch, our private cooking classes run in your villa kitchen — Cape Malay classics, braai mastery, and seafood over fire. Couples book them as a date; teams book them as a day out.
And for the person who has everything: myCHEF gift cards convert into any of these five experiences, at the same published prices.
Classes are sized for couples up to groups of eight in a home kitchen; larger teams run as corporate events with extra chef support. The syllabus is yours to keep — recipes written for a home kitchen, not a restaurant pass.
