Restaurant-level, without the restaurant

Fine dining at home is a five or seven-course tasting menu cooked and plated in your villa kitchen by a senior chef. It suits food-focused travellers, executive dinners and milestone tables of four or more guests across Cape Town and the Winelands.

The senior bench runs these menus — chefs who have held pass positions, not generalists. Courses arrive in sequence with proper pacing, a printed menu on the table, and a kitchen left spotless behind them.

What changes at home is the frame around the food. No table turnover, no 22:00 curfew from the next seating, no taxi home. The cheese course can wait twenty minutes while someone finishes a story. That freedom is the actual product; the cooking is how we earn it.

Three signature menus

Three menus carry the Cape specifically: the Cape Malay Heritage dinner, the Fynbos Tasting, and the Cape Seafood Journey. Each has its own page with the full arc — bobotie and koesisters refined; rooibos, buchu and waterblommetjie in season; snoek and licensed in-season kreef.

These are not theme nights. Each menu is built from ingredients with a genuine Cape address, written with the seasons, and revised when the market changes. If your table wants a menu that ignores the Cape entirely — a classic French arc, say — the consult can build that too.

Five courses or seven

The five-course tasting suits most evenings. The seven-course signature adds an amuse, a palate cleanser and a slower arc — the format our chef's table is built on. Both carry a four-guest minimum, and both quote fixed and itemised before any deposit.

Not sure which fits your evening? Five courses for a dinner that is part of a bigger night; seven when the dinner is the whole point.

Kitchens, pacing and practicalities

A standard villa kitchen handles a tasting menu — we bring the plating equipment, and induction backup where load-shedding demands it. Very small kitchens push service to an adjacent counter; we scout the space in the consult.

Pacing is yours. A five-course menu runs about two and a half hours at a comfortable rhythm; seven courses take three. Speeches, toasts and slow conversations are built into the plan, not treated as delays.

Table styling, rentals and glassware can be arranged and itemised on the quote. Many villas already have what a tasting menu needs; where they do not, we bring it in and show the line.
