Your own chef for the whole stay
A villa chef is a private chef booked by the day or the week for your Cape Town holiday: breakfasts, lunches, dinners or all three, shopped fresh daily with groceries billed at cost. It is built for families and groups staying in villas from Camps Bay and Clifton to Constantia and the Winelands.
The difference from a single dinner is continuity. The same chef learns your table — how the children eat, who takes coffee at six, which aunt avoids shellfish. By day three, meals arrive the way your family actually likes them, without a word said.
Most villa guests book for a December or January stay of one to three weeks, but the service runs all year. Winter stays, June to August, carry rates eight to ten percent below the standard card — Cape Town's quiet season is a good time to eat well indoors.
Day rates, published
Three day-rate formats cover most stays: a single-meal day for breakfast or lunch, a dinner-service day, and a full day running three meals. Groceries are billed at cost with receipts — the rate you see is chef time, and only chef time.
Mix and match across a stay: two full days around a celebration, single-meal days beside them, rest days between. Your quote lists each day on its own line, so you can trim the plan before you commit, not after.

The 7-day villa bundle
The only published weekly bundle in Cape Town. Seven consecutive days with the same chef, a pre-arrival dietary consult on WhatsApp, and a menu plan agreed before you land. It works out at roughly ten percent off the stacked day rates — and it is the product most villa guests ask for after their first stay.
Bundles over the festive super-peak window carry the published multipliers. Winter stays, June to August, run eight to ten percent below the standard rates.

Which days to staff
Most families do not need every day covered. The pattern that works: staff the arrival day, the big celebration night, and the day after a Winelands trip when nobody wants to cook. Leave restaurant nights and beach days unstaffed.

One pattern we gently discourage: staffing every dinner of a fortnight. Palate fatigue is real, and some of the best Cape Town evenings are out — a Constantia estate lunch, a seafood shack in Hout Bay. The bundle exists for guests who genuinely want full coverage, not to upsell the ones who do not.
Groceries at cost, explained
We shop daily from fishmongers, farm stalls and markets, and you pay what we paid. Receipts attach to the settled invoice. If you prefer to stock the villa yourself, your chef cooks from your fridge instead — the day rate is unchanged.
