Each occasion has its own logistics, and that is where a private chef earns the booking. A surprise birthday needs a quiet arrival. A proposal needs a cover story and a photographer cued to the minute. A memorial needs a coordinator who answers the phone and handles everything gently. The pages below go into each one properly.

Three formats cover almost every private occasion in Cape Town. The right one depends on group size, setting and how formal you want the evening to feel.

Demand here is seasonal, and honesty about capacity is part of the service. These are the dates that book out first — plan around them, not after them.
September's National Braai Day is the one date where every family in the country wants fire — if your birthday or gathering lands near 24 September, treat it like a festive date. November and early December belong to Ke Dezemba's year-end energy, and the week between Christmas and New Year is the single busiest stretch of our calendar.

- Super-peak 26 December – 7 January — our tightest window; book weeks ahead, published 2× dates apply on Dec 25, 31 and Jan 1
- Winter (June–August) — quieter, easier availability, and the best season for long fireplace lunches
How booking works
Message us on WhatsApp with the date, guest count, area and occasion. You get a reply within one hour during operating hours, a menu consult, and then a fixed itemised quote — chef time, groceries at cost, staffing, travel and any add-ons, line by line. A 50% deposit locks the date. Published cancellation tiers apply, and every booking carries our replacement-or-refund guarantee.
