2. What we collect and why
When you enquire or book we collect your name, contact details (WhatsApp number or email), event details (date, guests, area, occasion) and dietary notes you choose to share. We use this only to prepare quotes, plan and deliver your event, and meet our legal and accounting obligations.
Dietary and allergy notes are special-category information in practice, and we treat them that way: shared only with the chef and staff delivering your event.
3. Who we share it with
Your information goes to the coordinator, chef and staff assigned to your event, and to service providers we must use (payment processing, accounting). WhatsApp messages are processed by WhatsApp under its own terms. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with our sister operations in Bali or Dubai — each market keeps its own records.
4. Retention, security and your rights
We keep booking records as long as South African tax and company law requires, and enquiry data only as long as it is useful to serve you. Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards protect it.
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you may request access to your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, and complain to the Information Regulator. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@mychefs.co.za or WhatsApp +971 55 174 4849.
