We are biased, obviously. So the comparison below is written to be fair, including the cases where a restaurant room is the better call.
The short version of our case: a restaurant sells you a room with a kitchen attached. We bring the kitchen to a room that is already yours — your villa, your view, your music, your timeline, and no next seating waiting outside.
Restaurant room vs in-home, honestly
Row by row, the comparison that matters. We sell one side of this table, so read it the way you would read any seller's comparison — and then check the rate card, because our numbers are published and theirs are a market band.

When the restaurant room wins
Very large groups at short notice are better served by a restaurant's existing floor and stock. If that is your situation, we will say so on the first call and point you at rooms we rate. Our model shines at tables of two to twenty with a few days' runway — and at any table where privacy, pacing and honest wine pricing matter more than a famous room.

Family-style sharing for generous celebration tables. Plated tasting menus for food-focused evenings. The chef's table — six seats, arm's length from the pass — for the full theatre. Each links onward to its own page with published from-prices.
Format follows occasion. Birthdays and reunions tend to go family-style; milestone anniversaries and client dinners go plated; the chef's table is for people who came for the cooking itself. The consult will land the right one quickly.

Any venue with a kitchen
Villas on the Atlantic Seaboard, family homes in the Southern Suburbs, estates in Constantia and the Winelands. Zone 1 carries no travel fee; Winelands venues are quoted per the published travel table. All we need is a working kitchen — or notice to bring one.
Outdoor tables are normal in summer. We plan menu and plating around wind and light — a Constantia terrace in February and a Clifton balcony in a south-easter are different briefs, and your chef has cooked both.
Venue hire is not our business and we do not mark it up. If you need a venue, book it direct; if you need suggestions, our location pages describe the areas we know best.
How an evening gets booked
One WhatsApp message with the date, the guest count and the area starts it. A menu consult follows within one business day, then a fixed itemised quote. You approve it, a 50% deposit locks the date, and the next time you think about dinner is when you sit down to it.
