One less thing to organise
Memorial catering in Cape Town starts from R395 per person for canapés-style gatherings, with grazing tables, staffed teas and full-service options for 15 to 100-plus guests. We understand the shape of these gatherings: numbers are estimates until the day, timing shifts around the service, and nobody has the energy for decisions. Our job is to absorb that uncertainty, not add to it.
You will notice this page is shorter on celebration language than our others. That is deliberate. The food will be generous and the service invisible; the tone of the day belongs to the family.
The 24–72 hour turnaround
Funerals and memorials do not wait for lead times, so we hold capacity for them. Call us, tell the coordinator the date, the likely numbers and the venue, and we will confirm what we can do within hours — not days.
Where the gathering happens is flexible: the family home, a church hall, a garden, a funeral parlour's reception room. We have catered all of them. The coordinator confirms access, power and water with the venue directly, so the family never has to relay logistics through a difficult week.
- One named coordinator — the same person answers every call and message
- Menus chosen from proven, pre-costed options rather than built from scratch — generous, familiar food that is easy to eat standing
- Guest counts flexible until 24 hours before; the quote adjusts per person
- Timing flexes around the service — we serve when you are ready, not on our schedule
- Dietary and halaal-friendly requirements handled with our published protocols
Drop-off or staffed
Two ways to do it, depending on how much the family wants to think about on the day.
Included
- Included (drop-off): prepared platters, grazing spreads and sweet options delivered, set and labelled
- Included (staffed): the above plus serving staff, tea and coffee service, and full cleanup
Quoted separately
- rentals if the venue needs them, Zone 2–3 travel
- extended hours beyond the quoted window — arranged gently, never rushed
Clear pricing bands
Per-person bands, published, with no festive-style multipliers applied to memorial bookings. The quote you receive is fixed and itemised; if numbers change, only the per-person lines move. Payment timing for memorial bookings is discussed gently with the coordinator — the published deposit and cancellation terms apply, explained in plain language before anything is signed.

Dietary and cultural needs, quietly handled
Cape Town families are diverse, and memorial tables often need to be too. Halaal-friendly catering follows our strict published protocols — separate prep sequences and certified-halaal supplier sourcing where possible. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and allergy-aware options are planned in from the start, not patched on.
If the family has specific cultural or religious requirements around the food, tell the coordinator once and it is taken care of. We would rather ask one careful question than make one wrong assumption.
The register of the food matters too. Memorial catering should be generous, familiar and easy to eat standing with a cup of tea in the other hand — good sandwiches done properly, savoury platters, something sweet. This is not the day for a tasting menu, and we will never try to make it one.

Celebrations of life
Not every gathering after a death is sombre. More families are choosing a celebration of life — a garden lunch, a braai, a table full of the person's favourite food — and the catering register shifts with it. Tell us which kind of day you are planning and the menu, the pacing and the service style follow.
For a celebration of life we can cook the dishes the person was known for, if you share the recipe or the memory of it. Families tell us it is the detail guests talk about on the way home.
Real events, not staged ones
Our first case study for this occasion publishes after the event is delivered — photographed with the client's permission, never staged. We don't fake these.
Occasion questions, answered.
