The short answer

Film and production catering across Cape Town and the Western Cape — volume breakfasts and lunches for cast and crew, early call-time alignment, location-move logistics and wet-weather cover. Quotes are per-day and itemised; staffing carries a replacement guarantee.

Cape Town's film industry runs on long days and hard start times — the summer production season fills the city with international shoots, and winter keeps the local industry busy. Our production format exists for exactly that: the crew eats well, on time, wherever the unit is shooting today.

Call-time alignment

If first call is 05:30, breakfast service opens before it — not at it. We build the catering schedule off your call sheet, and the previous day's wrap time sets the next morning's load-in.

Second meal, snacks and craft-service-style grazing run to the shooting day, not to a clock. When the schedule slips — it always slips — service flexes with it. Your coordinator takes the updated call sheet and re-times everything.

Night shoots invert the same logic: a hot meal at what the clock calls midnight and the body calls lunch. The format covers both ends of the schedule — menus plan around the shift, not the hour.

Moving locations

Unit moves are the norm, not the exception. The format is designed to pack, move and re-open fast.

Included

  • mobile kitchen and service kit that packs and re-sets between locations on the same day
  • breakfast, lunch and snack services aligned to the call sheet, dietary covers included

Quoted separately

  • Zone 2–3 travel beyond the metro, overnight crew accommodation where shoots run remote
  • From you: call sheets the evening before, location access details, headcount updates by 20:00

Volume that doesn't taste like volume

Production catering prices per person inside the published corporate band, with large-group rates at crew scale and staffing on hourly or flat event lines. Per-day totals itemise on the quote — catering, staff, travel — so production accountants see clean lines.

The food itself runs to the same standard as our private work: real breakfasts, proper lunches, menus that rotate across a multi-week shoot so day twenty doesn't feel like day two.

What production managers get on paper

Every shoot engagement runs on three documents, agreed before day one:

  1. 01The per-day quote: catering, staffing and travel itemised per day, matching your production budget lines.
  2. 02The catering schedule: service times keyed to the call sheet, updated daily as schedules shift.
  3. 03The dietary register: crew dietary needs captured once, held for the whole shoot, labelled at every service.

Wet weather and hard days

Winter shoots and shoulder-season exteriors mean rain plans. Covered service areas, hot drinks that stay hot, and menus that hold in bad weather are planned at quote stage — not improvised when the clouds come over the mountain.

Send your shoot dates, locations and headcount on WhatsApp and we'll come back with availability within the hour, 08:00–20:00 SAST. Production managers get one coordinator for the entire shoot.

The same crew-eats-well logic applies to commercials, stills shoots and content days — shorter engagements, same early calls. If your production is a single day rather than a season, the per-day quote works exactly the same way.
